PAWN INITIATIVE.
Field inspection performed 04/19-04/20/16; the licensee was issued a ROV on 05/04/16 for a single instance administrative violation and two recordkeeping violations. Although the licensee's failure to timely/correctly record required acquisition entries (at a rate of 15.9%, by volume, since March of 2014) merits a Warning Conference by policy, it is alternatively recommended that the licensee receive the Warning Letter only for the following reasons: (1.) the licensee immediately reconciled all identified A&D Record discrepancies; (2.) 97% of the finite acquisition discrepancies involve erroneous selection (by an employee) of prefab firearm type "categories" within the licensee's electronic recordkeeping software; and (3.) the licensee's limited (violation-free) compliance history. With DIO concurrence, a Warning Letter was generated and sent to the licensee (via certified post with return receipt) on 06/23/16. No further action required at this time.
Due to the licensee's compliance history, I concur with the Area Supervisor’s alternate recommendation of Warning Letter and no recall inspection .
