As a result of the compliance inspection, the licensee was cited for failure to ensure customers completed the Form 4473 completely and correctly in that in Item 11a contained "no" responses in redacted instances and prohibiting questions 11c and 11i contained "yes" responses in redacted instances. In redacted instances, the licensee transferred redacted receivers to out of state residents and in redacted instance redacted long gun was transferred to a NJ resident in violation of NJ law. In redacted instances, prohibiting questions were left blank and in redacted instances, Item 17 was blank or incorrect. This was the licensee's first compliance inspection since being licensed in 2011. There were 858 firearms in inventory. There were redacted acquisitions and redacted dispositions during the inspection period. There were 2999 forms reviewed. There were redacted traces during the inspection period and redacted thefts/losses of firearms during the inspection period.
I concur with the Investigator and Area Supervisor's alternate recommendation of Warning Lettter and Recall inspection .
