This assignment is issued in keeping with the FY2017 Domain Assessment as a "high risk" inspection based upon information received from Federal, State or local sources. Specifically, a call was received by the duty agent 12/28/2016, in which caller referenced outdoor shooting and loud explosions at a range on family property. Please ensure use of Tannerite-like materials are within the scope of existing policy.
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) Industry Operations Investigators (Investigators) redacted conducted an unannounced onsite firearms compliance inspection of type 01, Dealer in Firearms, Federal Firearms Ljcensee Todd's Guns LLC on April 11, 2017 and April 12, 2017. A closing conference was held with the licensee on May 16, 2017. The inspection was conducted at the licensed business premises located at 8019 Summerfield Rd., Lambertville, Michigan Present during the inspection was owner and responsible person Todd C. Bruning. Mr. Bruning’s identity was verified by his redacted issued driver’s license redacted The inspection was conducted to determine compliance with federal firearm laws and regulations. The inspection period ranged from April 11,2016 to April 11, 2017. Five violations were cited. Note: Responsible person Todd C. Bruning also holds a type 01, Dealer in Firearms, Federal Firearms License (4-38-05042). The license is operated as a sole proprietorship and is located at the same business premises. Licensee failed to report redacted multiple hand gun sales, and in redacted instances accepted non-qualifying concealed carry permits in lieu of a NICS check. I recommend a Warning Letter and Recall Inspection , as the Order does not directly address the latter redacted circumstances.
